Larisa Bryski: Music
Butterflies
(Larisa Bryski)
There’s a flower in the window underneath the broken pane
She steps around the pots and pans set out to catch the rain
She smoothes out every wrinkle from her torn and faded jeans
And even though her life is hard, it’s better than it seems
Everywhere she goes
Everything is fine
All those little problems really never worth her time
And when the thunder crashes as she lies awake in bed
All she sees are butterflies in her head
She hangs a picture on a wall that crumbles to the floor
And dances to the sound of sadness pounding at her door
It doesn’t even matter if the power isn’t on
She reads a book by window light when she wakes up at dawn
Everywhere she goes
Everything is fine
All those little problems really never worth her time
And when the thunder crashes as she lies awake in bed
All she sees are butterflies in her head
Don’t think of her as strange
She knows the right way to be
And I wish I could be like her
Everywhere she goes
Everything is fine
All those little problems really never worth her time
And when the thunder crashes as she lies awake in bed
All she sees are butterflies in her head
